Workshop #1 ... April Showers bring May Flowers
Scale: ¼-inch
Workshop Length: Afternoon Workshop (1:30PM - 5:00PM)
Description: The workshop is a coat rack to hang rain gear and/or gardening accessories.
The rack has a narrow shelf at the top with a mirror just below. The seat is stained wood, but
the rest of the coat rack has been painted and antiqued. Besides assembling the coat rack,
participants will make the raincoat (which is paper), the gardening hat, trowel and a flat of seedlings.
Boots and umbrella are included in the workshop.
Cost: $25.00
Skill Level: Beginner
Tools Needed: Bring basic tool kit plus paint brush, special color (if desired) of paint for the coat rack. Instructor will provide additional supplies.

Workshop #3 ... Basic Silver Soldering
Scale: 1-inch
Workshop Length: Full Day (9:00am - 5:00pm)
Description: Students will learn the fundamentals of basic soldering, including cleaning metal, use of flux,
temperature controls, and metal differences. Practice sessions in the morning will familiarize the student with
operating a butane torch for silver solder with an emphasis on comparing soft soldering with silver soldering.
Students will graduate in the afternoon to working on the workshop project, a floor lamp.
Cost: $75.00

Tools Needed: Instructor will bring all supplies and materials.
Students only need to bring Opti-Visor, magnifying glasses or minimal eye protection.

Workshop #4 ... Family Breakfast in Quarter Scale
Scale: ¼-inch
Workshop Length: Full Day (9:00am - 5:00pm)
Description: An old-fashioned family holiday breakfast, complete with scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, milk, coffee and
as my grandfather used to call them, flapjacks (pancakes). You'll fill serving dishes for each of these foods and
then make individual plates for every member of the family. Some may want just pancakes, some may want a little of everything.
It's entirely up to you! You can even make a "snowman" pancake like we used to get when we were kids (complete with
chocolate chip eyes and buttons). You will be making the food from scratch, using both air dry clay and polymer clay.
The coffee cups and saucers are by Debbie Young, and the milk glasses are by Linden Swiss.

Description: Fill a bakery or dessert table with delicious desserts. Make a strawberry pie,
2-crust pie, mixed fruit tart, coconut cake, 2-layer cake, cinnamon rolls, raspberry breakfast ring and
others (as time allows). Learn the secrets of using air-dried clay and how/what to use to turn it into
realistic food items.

Workshop #9: Porch Pond
Scale: 1-inch
Workshop Length: Morning Workshop (9:00AM - 12:30PM)
Description: This workshop will teach how to make paper lilies, lily pads and cattail leaves for use in ponds.
We will also make clay goldfish and cattails. The student will learn to work with "water" and the different
products available. The pots are hand-thrown so they will vary in size, color and shape. All accessories are included.
The frog can be painted. The butterfly and dragonfly are ready to be applied to the leaves.

Workshop #10: Southwest-style Cantina or Hacienda
Scale: 1/4-inch
Workshop Length: Full Day (9:00am - 5:00pm)
Description: Each four room building is a one-of-a-kind piece! Students will learn how to make stucco,
dry brush painting techniques, creative uses for foam core, and how to use fun foam and cardstock as
building materials. Your hacienda/cantina will come pre-assembled and primed. Each student will get to
form a variety of features including wooden awnings for shade, wood or tile flooring printed on card stock,
corrugated tin roof or classic tar or gravel roof and a variety of wallpaper for interior walls. The base is
8 ½" x 11 ¼" and the buildings vary in height from 6 ½" to 8" tall.

Tools Needed: All materials provided by teacher. A small cutting board and an x-acto knife are recommended
with your basic tool kit.

Workshop Length: Afternoon Workshop (1:30PM - 5:00PM)
Description: Let's finish decorating that bathroom! We will start with an etegerre, fill it with 2 shelves of
fluffy, white towels, an overflowing cosmetic tray, tissue box, a basket with soaps, and a T.P. We will then choose
a round or oval or rectangle waste can and hamper. Also included is a hair dryer, scale, box of cotton puffs and
a rubber ducky. Choice of colors include white, pink, mint, tan or black.
